About the Idea Fund

The Bennington Idea Fund is a non-profit organization in Bennington, Vermont. The Idea Fund uses donations from local business and community members to invest in ideas through grants.

Empower people to alleviate poverty.

Ideas must meet three criteria to apply for an investment from the Idea Fund:

1.   A project idea must empower people in poverty.

2.   A project idea must set out to achieve a measurable impact.

3.   A project idea must attempt to generate sustainable positive change.

Who can submit ideas?

Anyone can submit an idea—individuals, organizations, or businesses. And, beyond those three criteria, there is no limit to what might be eligible for funding. Creativity is encouraged, and the Idea Fund seeks especially to fund ideas that would otherwise face barriers to funding.

Our team will provide support to all applicants before they formally apply to the Idea Fund steering committee for a grant, so even if you're not sure your idea is ready or right for this program, we encourage you to fill out an Idea Statement, and let our team contact you.
